Fees

Our practice aims for transparency and fairness with respect to fees. Dr Matthew Broadhead is a member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and uses AMA fee recommendations as a guide for patients. We treat both public and private patients.

Consultation fees

Consultation fees will be advised at the time of booking an appointment. Reduced fees are offered at our discretion to pensioners, children and those in need. Our practice is not a bulk-billing practice.

Payment for the consultation is expected on the day. We accept cash, credit (VISA and Mastercard) and debit cards. You can claim a portion of the consultation fee back from Medicare. If surgery is required, you may elect to be treated in a public or private hospital.

Surgery fees for patients treated in a public hospital

If you elect to be treated in a public hospital, you will be added to the public hospital waiting list. Enquiries with regard to waiting time for surgery are best directed to the hospital. As a public teaching hospital, surgery may be performed by a training Registrar under the direct supervision of Dr Broadhead. Treatment at a public hospital is fully covered by Medicare with no out of pocket cost.

Surgery fees for patients treated in a private hospital

For treatment at a private hospital we will provide you with a quotation in writing, taking into account your level of health insurance coverage.

If you do not have private health insurance but still wish to be treated in a private hospital, you may elect to be a self-funded patient. You will be provided with a full fee estimate including fees for the surgeon, surgical assistant, anaesthetist, the private hospital and any required surgical implants or prostheses.

Please call us on (02) 9052 1883 and our team would be happy to answer any questions and provide further information on fees.
